Event Description:
The Escondido Chamber's Education Committee is focused on connecting leaders in education to leaders in the business community. Their goal is to work together towards workforce development, cutting edge curriculum and educational resource sustainability.

This month: "Charter Schools 101"

We welcome Cameron Curry, Executive Director of the Classical Academies, who will give us an overview of their premier charter school organization. They have been serving students in Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade with their personalized learning programs since 1999.  It is their goal that every student becomes an effective thinker, communicator, and achiever!

Cameron Curry has been employed by The Classical Academies since 1999 and served as founding Board President, Business Manager, Director of Business Services, and was promoted to Executive Director in 2009. Under his leadership, the organization has grown from one school serving 200 students and 15 employees to seven locations with an enrollment over 4,600+ students K-12th grade and 560+ employees.

Mr. Curry also serves on the California Charter School Association’s (CCSA) Board of Directors to develop policy and accountability measures to strengthen the charter public school movement in California. Mr. Curry is a parent, author, and known leader in the charter school community and one who strives for excellence in his day-to-day dealings with students, parents, team members, and our community. Mr. Curry knows that great schools exist when leaders always put the needs of students first.
