APPLY ONLINE AT: https://www.edjoin.org/Home/JobPosting/1041657 Regional Assistant The Regional Assistant position is a classified, non-exempt position with Dehesa Charter School or Community Montessori Charter School which is operated by Element Education, Inc. (EEI). The Regional Assistant reports to the Regional Manager and is primarily responsible for assisting with the management of the resource center. Essential Functions Support Student Learning -Ensure high expectations for each child’s individual academic and social growth - Have knowledge of every child that attends the resource center - Make copies - Assist with preparation for meetings and public events - Order supplies - Create flyers, letters, spreadsheets, etc. - Maintain filing systems and office organization Public Relations -Assist with maintaining a positive and effective work environment - Treat all staff with respect, provide opportunities for participation in decision making, and be responsive to the human needs of staff members - Coordinate and publicize social events for students and families - Maintain up-to-date webpage on school website - Field parent calls/concerns regarding resource center instruction and programs - Assist with the organization of parent workshops, tours, and informational meetings - Greet visitors and answer phones to take messages or assist caller - Develop positive relationships with parents and general public associated with the organization - Communicate and support the school’s mission, policies, and procedures - Represent Element Education and its programs in a positive and professional manner Accountability -Maintain attendance records for classes -Assists in developing and executing, with input from community and staff, school plans and procedures for safety, supervision, conduct, and discipline of students -Serve as liaison to landlord (if applicable), independent contractors, and School Director -Coordinate daily maintenance and cleanliness of facility Professional and Organizational Development -Attend staff and planning meetings and workshops -In collaboration with the Regional Manager and School Director, plan for own career growth and ongoing professional development Club E Instructor Essential Functions 1. Assist in the supervision of small and large groups of children in a variety of developmentally appropriate activities both in the indoor and outdoor environment, being aware of safety factors and appropriate adult-child ratio. 2. Assist in the organization and daily schedule of developmentally appropriate activities for young children that include attention to character development and real-world learning. 3. Prepare instructional materials; assist in maintaining classroom inventory and ordering instructional supplies and equipment as needed. 4. Assist children with hygiene procedures as necessary; observe and evaluate the health needs of children and advise Program Manager of any concerns. 5. Operate a variety of equipment as directed by the associate teacher or lead teacher. Examples include computers, projectors, record/CD players, tape recorders, laminating machines and kitchen appliances. 6. Attend staff and planning meetings and workshops; plan for own career growth and ongoing professional development 7. Ensure students are signed in and out of program daily 8. Maintain security of site; comply with all aspects of safety plan 9. Greet visitors and respond to parent concerns 10. Maintain record of child attendance 11. Serve as liaison between Program Manager, as needed *Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities High school diploma (or equivalent) Previous office experience preferred Previous experience working with students preferred Strategic and independent thinking Clear, concise, and mature communication both orally and in writing Self-motivated, well-organized, able to handle multiple tasks, and prioritize and meet deadlines Establish and maintain effective relationships Considerable knowledge of computers and all aspects of Microsoft Office Requirements Reliable vehicle and 50/100 auto insurance coverage First Aid/CPR/AED certification Proof that employee is free of active tuberculosis (i.e. TB risk assessment, TB test, X-ray, etc.) Salary: $14.04-$21.77 per hour FLSA Classification: Non-exempt Work Schedule: Determined by School Director Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Sitting is done at a desk with forward bending from the waist, leaning on the forearms, and looking down which requires neck flexion. Job duties are occasionally performed on electronic mobile and desktop devices. Employee must also regularly be able to write, file, type and operate a computer, telephone, and general office equipment. It is necessary to grasp and manipulate pens, markers, scissors, staplers, etc., either occasionally or frequently, depending on the day. May occasionally have to climb up stairs, stoop, kneel, and/or lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
